Rules for price calculations
Sealink freight quotations are prepared from the shipment details and service conditions available when the quotation is issued. The final charge is based on the confirmed booking, actual cargo information, applicable carrier charges, and the quotation’s stated validity.
What determines your price
- Origin, destination, routing, mode of transport, and carrier availability.
- Cargo description, quantity, dimensions, weight, volume, and chargeable weight.
- Equipment type, hazardous or temperature-controlled requirements, and special handling.
- Fuel, security, terminal, customs, documentation, detention, demurrage, and other applicable accessorial charges.
- Currency, taxes, duties, regulatory fees, and third-party costs where applicable.
Rate validity and changes
Rates apply only for the validity period and assumptions shown in the written quotation. A change to cargo details, routing, sailing date, carrier schedule, equipment, or requested services may require the price to be recalculated. Carrier or regulatory surcharges introduced after quotation may also apply when permitted by the booking terms.
Final verification
Please review the quotation and booking confirmation before tendering cargo. If the shipment information changes or a charge is unclear, contact your Sealink representative for an updated written quotation. The booking confirmation and applicable service terms take precedence over general examples on this page.
