Help Center

1. What is the difference between FCL and LCL?

FCL gives one shipper exclusive use of a container, even when it is not completely full. LCL combines smaller shipments from different shippers in one container. Share your cargo volume, weight and route so the team can compare the two options.

2. Can you arrange door-to-door delivery?

Ask for a quote covering collection, international transport and final delivery. Availability depends on the origin, destination and cargo. Confirm which inland legs, clearance services and destination charges are included before booking.

3. How can I track my shipment?

Sign in to the Client Portal and open the relevant shipment. Keep your booking, container or transport-document reference handy when contacting the team. Tracking updates depend on information supplied by the carrier; ask your coordinator to check any missing or unexpected milestone.

4. Which documents should I prepare?

Start with the commercial invoice, packing list and shipment instructions. Transport documents and any product-specific certificates or permits depend on the shipment. Send the cargo details to your coordinator early to confirm the document checklist for your route.

5. How do I request cargo insurance or customs clearance?

Tell the team which service you need when requesting a quote. For insurance, provide the goods description, value and route; for clearance, provide the shipment and trading-party details. Confirm coverage, exclusions, required authorizations and fees before proceeding. These services should not be assumed to be included in a freight rate.

6. What information is needed for a freight quote?

Provide pickup and delivery locations, ready date, commodity, package count, dimensions, gross weight and preferred transport mode. Include the agreed Incoterm and any special handling needs. Indicate whether you need collection, delivery, insurance or clearance so the quote reflects the requested scope.

7. How should I interpret the estimated transit time?

Check whether the estimate covers port-to-port transport or the complete door-to-door journey. Confirm the planned departure, arrival and delivery milestones with your coordinator. Carrier schedules, connections, congestion, inspections and weather can affect the estimate; it is not a guaranteed delivery date unless expressly agreed.

8. How should my cargo be packed and labelled?

Use packaging suitable for the goods and the planned handling and transport. Supply accurate packed dimensions and weights, and identify each package clearly. Tell the team about fragile, non-stackable or unusually shaped items before booking so the preparation and handling requirements can be reviewed.

9. Can I ship dangerous goods or special cargo?

Disclose dangerous goods, batteries, liquids, temperature-sensitive products and oversized items before requesting a booking. Provide the product details and relevant safety documentation, such as a Safety Data Sheet where applicable. The team must confirm the suitable transport option and carrier acceptance before you dispatch the cargo.

10. What should I do if a shipment is delayed?

Contact your shipment coordinator with the booking reference and the milestone you expected. Ask for the latest carrier status, revised schedule and any action needed from you. Check whether a change affects pickup, delivery appointments or other arrangements before making new plans.

11. Can I change or cancel a booking?

Send the requested change and booking reference to the team as soon as possible. Changes to dates, routing, equipment or cargo details require confirmation. Ask about applicable carrier or service-provider charges, and do not treat a change or cancellation as accepted until you receive confirmation.

12. What should I check before accepting a quote?

Review the route, transport mode, equipment, validity period and cargo assumptions. Ask which origin and destination services, surcharges and local charges are included or excluded. Clarify the treatment of duties, taxes, inspections, storage and waiting time, and request an itemized explanation of any unclear charge.

13. What should I do if I cannot find a rate in the portal?

Send the team your route, cargo details and intended ready date, together with the search you tried. Ask for a quotation matching your shipment rather than choosing an unrelated rate. Confirm availability, validity and service inclusions before submitting a booking.

14. What should I do if cargo arrives damaged or incomplete?

Record the visible condition and any shortage, keep packaging and supporting documents, and take clear photos where safe. Notify your coordinator promptly with the shipment reference and details. Ask for the relevant carrier or insurer procedure and deadlines; do not discard affected goods before receiving instructions.

15. How do I access the Client Portal?

Use the Sealink Gama Client Portal. If you need an account or cannot see a shipment, contact your Sealink representative to check access. Use the portal's password recovery option when available, and never send your password by email or message.

16. How can I get help with a specific shipment?

Use the Contact page for your selected country or reach out to your assigned Sealink representative. Include your company name, booking or shipment reference, route and a short description of the issue. For time-sensitive requests, clearly state the deadline and a callback number so the team can assess the next step.
