Logistics guide

Cargo may pass through several handling points before delivery. Packaging should protect the product during lifting, movement and storage while keeping identifying information readable.

Review the package as a transport unit

  • Select packaging suited to the product and planned transport mode. Consider edges, protruding parts, internal movement and exposure during handling.
  • Measure and weigh the finished package, including pallets and protective materials. Give the forwarder the packed dimensions rather than product-only measurements.
  • Mark package references clearly and keep a packing record. Photograph the prepared cargo and document any handling instructions before collection.

Before you proceed

For fragile, heavy or unusual goods, discuss a packaging plan with a qualified packing provider. Do not assume standard cartons or pallets are suitable for every movement.
