Logistics guide

Cargo outside a standard handling profile requires early discussion. Accurate drawings and handling information help the parties assess equipment and route options before committing to a movement.

Build the technical cargo brief

  • Provide the packed dimensions and gross weight of each unit. Identify lifting points, support requirements and any information available about the centre of gravity.
  • Describe collection and delivery access, including loading surfaces, gates and available lifting equipment. Share photographs or drawings that explain the constraints.
  • Ask which technical reviews and local approvals may be needed. Agree on responsibilities and confirm that changes to packing or dimensions are reviewed before dispatch.

Before you proceed

Do not treat an initial routing discussion as an approved lifting or transport plan. Specialist review may be needed for the actual cargo and locations.
