Logistics guide

Connecting systems works best when the teams agree on the meaning of the data before discussing the connection itself. Booking, shipment and delivery references should remain traceable across the handover.

Define the information exchange

  • List the records to exchange, such as booking requests, shipment milestones or delivery confirmations. Name the system responsible for each record.
  • Agree on field definitions, required values, time zones and units. Document how corrections, duplicate messages and missing references will be handled.
  • Test representative examples and exceptions with the implementation teams. Confirm access controls, monitoring responsibilities and the process for changing an interface.

Before you proceed

Start with a defined workflow and a small agreed dataset. Validate the operational result before expanding the integration to more processes.
